TL;DR: On October 19, 2025 AWS suffered a DNS meltdown that knocked services offline for over 24 hours. Ten days later they released a root-cause analysis showing a domino effect—Dynamo lost its DNS entries, EC2 control-plane errors flared up and Network Load Balancers mis-routed traffic—bringing large swaths of the cloud to a standstill.
