Hussein Nasser: We now know why the DNS failed

We now know why the DNS failed

On October 19, 2025 AWS hit a major snag that knocked services offline for over 24 hours. After a 10-day wait, the official RCA revealed a DNS meltdown triggered by Dynamo losing its records, which then rippled into EC2 and Network Load Balancer errors (chapters: 0:00 summary, 5:30 Dynamo DNS loss, 13:41 EC2 errors, 16:16 NLB errors).

Beyond the outage deep-dive, Hussein’s dropped links to a stash of backend goodies—courses on OS fundamentals, Node.js internals, networking, databases, NGINX, Python and more—plus podcasts, Medium posts, and even a coffee tip jar for die-hard infrastructure buffs.
