Hussein Nasser: We now know why the DNS failed

On October 19, 2025, AWS suffered a DNS outage that dragged on for over 24 hours. Ten days later, the official root-cause analysis revealed that a chain of failures—starting with DynamoDB losing its DNS records and cascading through EC2 errors and Network Load Balancer hiccups—brought a large chunk of AWS services to a standstill.
