We now know that AWS’s massive outage on October 19, 2025—which left DNS down for more than a day—stemmed from a cascading failure that began with Dynamo losing critical DNS records. That glitch then rippled through EC2 (causing instance-level errors) and ultimately tripped up the Network Load Balancers.
