AWS DNS Outage TL;DR
On October 19, 2025, AWS suffered a DNS failure that knocked services offline for over a day. In the root-cause analysis published ten days later, AWS pinned the outage on a cascade of issues starting with DynamoDB losing its DNS entries, followed by errors in EC2 and hiccups in the Network Load Balancer.
